As I was reading on the Greek ways of love, I stumbled upon this: A Triangular Theory of Love by Robert J. Sternberg from Yale in 1986. While Mr. Sternberg himself did not draw out his own theories, I found this chart to be rather eye opening when I tried to think about different relationships I have in my life. I also found that understanding the proper definition of the words intimacy and passion was helpful.
So check it out:
Intimacy: the closeness each partner feels to the other and the strength of the bond that binds them together. Partners high in intimacy like, value and understand their partners. An experience of warmth in a loving relationship.
Passion: based on romantic feelings, physical attraction for and sexual intimacy with the partner.
Decision/Commitment: represents cognitive factors such as acknowledging that one is in love and has a commitment to maintaining the relationships.
or if you want a prettier version:
Consider the three components and to what degree they are present in your relationships. <3
