Since I blogged about the waking hours a few days ago, I found myself talking to a variety of people about it. Apparently, this is more of a common thing than I realized.
The first night I woke up after blogging, I used my new technique of sending out loving prayers and energy. I had sat down earlier in the day and wrote out a couple pages of names of people that I wanted to be sure to include. As I went down the list, I saw in my mind’s eye an image of the person. I found myself with special words for them and this warm energy in my heart. I found that while I was doing that, I was able to fall back asleep faster than I did on some of the other previous nights. It feels like it was because of all the loving energy soothing me to sleep.
I saw my chiropractor and was telling him about it all, being awake around 2-4 a.m. and then feeling incredibly tired around 2 -4 p.m. It piqued his interest, and he referred me to a Holographic Health Soul/Body Paradigm chart hanging on the wall.
He showed me that during the hours of 2 -4, my body was working on rebuilding connective tissues (skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, hair, nails) and my cleansing system (spleen, skin, liver, kidney, bladder, lymph nodes, lungs). There is so much to this chart to examine and understand so I was thankful for his knowledge. He suggested that I take a Magnesium Penetrator supplement before I go to bed. Apparently, magnesium plays a vital role in so many functions of our body. I found that with taking one tablet, my waking time lasted for much shorter intervals. 6 minutes of awake time! (My worst recorded awake time during this series being 2 hours 52 minutes.)
I did feel more rested when I woke up and seemingly not as tired during the afternoon part of the day. Wahoo!!
While I was out in the world, I came across a man who I found myself talking to about sleep cycles. He talked about our ancestors being hunter-gatherers and having a biphasic sleep pattern, more in tune with their natural circadian rhythm. Biphasic sleep is a sleep pattern where an individual sleeps in two segments within a 24-hour period. This can manifest as sleeping at night with a midday nap or splitting nighttime sleep into two separate periods.) He further talked about how it was only in our modern-day society that we became accustomed to sleeping in one big block of sleep.
I again took 1 magnesium supplement before bed last night and still was able to only be awake for a total of 12 minutes.
I find all of this to be fascinating. I keep finding more rabbit holes of things to explore and understand. Either way, I am setting myself up for better sleep and more productivity when I am actively awake. Excited to see what else I learn.
What is your sleep schedule like? How are you feeling during the day? What are your tricks? I would love to hear more perspectives!
Glad to be on your team! You are an awesome soul, keep on ...keeping on
